Guest davidhoff Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 Is there any option to record movies faster with the c500? I tried everything with the recording option embedded in the french rom and i must say its a little bit faster than the old firmware but if you compare the function with lets say the nokia 6230 its a little bit disapointing. For example; even if you record a movie with less motion the phone records a few seconds without framedrops but after that its seems to need a little break (less than a second) to write the data out of the cmos on to the memorycard (btw. record movie to internal ram gives the same effect). This gives movies a stuttering effect while the nokia 6230 records (with less internal ram) a setup with lots of motion flawless. How is it possible that such a powerfull phone has such a bad videorecording function? Btw. I even heard that WM2005 beta has a recoring function wich is even more disapointing!
Guest Marcos_ Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 I would have thought there would be alternative video recording apps available?
Guest gpcarreon (MVP) Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Which codec are you using? If you look into your phone's registry you will find out that 3gp and MP4 have 'FrameRate' registry values. Have you tried playing with those values?
Guest davidhoff Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 I have seen some interesting registry tweaks in the Recparam map; -ATimetoWriteCard -CacheSize -VTimetoWriteCard -BitRate Have somebody test to change this settings? I think that it is possible to get the same quality as the 6230 (videobitrate seems to be lower at the 6230 and the framerate higher) Btw. To change the framerate from 15 to 10 gives only a more horrible result, I hoped to have faster videos with a little bit lower bitrate)
