A few questions for my first homescreen

I'm trying to make a theme. I managed to do somethings but somehow it doesn't look quite right when uploaded on the phone. This is what I designed:

This is how it looks on the phone:

The image is shifted and it looks like a low quality image, colors are not right. I'm using Homescreen Designer 1.3.2. What do you think I am doing wrong?

Firstly the picture you use must be the right size and secondly you need to set the items you select for the homescreen slightly higher and then they seem to come out lower on the phonescreen. You have to juggle a bit if you have boxes to fit text in. Hope this has been helpful :)

You shouldn't have to jugle randomly with plugins. You're homesreen image needs to be 176x200. The the plugin heights need to total 200. When you are positioning things, then think of the plugin height - if you're plugin is 20 pixels height, and your text is size 12, and you want the text in the middle vertically, then you would set your y="" value to 4. Does that make sense?

The obvious problem with the pictures showing is that you made the background 220x176, to fill the whole screen but you need to leave space for the Soft Keys at the bottom (20px) so just make your image 200 in height and it should be fine.

Thanks for the replies. I know image should be 176x200 but somehow I made the images 176x221 :) . Corrected to 176x200. Also I found out Homescreen Designer somehow screwed up the theme while building hme file. I manually copied files to the phone and all of the problems are gone except one. I couldn't out one thing with the MRU bar. Here's what the theme looks like normally:

Any ideas what is wrong here?

check the total height of the plugins used totals 200. I suspect they come to more (220 possibly looking at the image).

I checked and if I'm not missing anything they totaled to 184 :?: ](*,)

hmm, try moving the mru bar up 1 pixel.

If that doesn't work - post your xml file so we can rip it apart for you :)
