Guest thelovebug Posted July 1, 2005 Report Posted July 1, 2005 (edited) I know that I can use WMA, WAV and MID as ringtones, but am I right in saying that you can only use WAV and MID for custom ringtones? Is there a way around this, if so? Why would WMA be ok for one and not the other? I suppose the same question would also be valid for the alarm too. Cheers! :) Edited July 1, 2005 by thelovebug
Guest squall Posted July 2, 2005 Report Posted July 2, 2005 what do you mean custom ringtones? you can use wma or wav as ringtones with no probs at all.... the only strange thing is you cant use wma for sms tones etc unless you place them on the phone or hack the registry, where wav will automatically be detected on the storagecard for sms tones etc. that assumes you havea c500, it does vary depending on the phone and rom, for example the us rom can play mp3 tones to
Guest thelovebug Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 what do you mean custom ringtones? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I mean ringtones that are assigned to individual contacts.
Guest mupwangle Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 I don't have any custom ringtones and my main ringtone is currently a wav file. The media Player 10 roms support MP3 ringtones too.
Guest martin Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 You also have the option to use MP4 as ringtones but you still have to put them in /Storage/Application Data/Sounds if you want them as custom ringtones. I use dbpoweramp and the FAAC MP4 codec to converts any audio files.
