Saving Ring Tones on Mini Card

I would like to save some ringtones on the card, but I don't see an option on how to choose them to be played. If you go into sounds, you will find the ringtones, but I don't see an option for changing the directory. Is there a way?

If you just place them in the /Storage Card directory (no subdirectory) then you'll be able to select the ringtone from the settings menu without changing any directory setting! That was a long sentence... need a rest now.

To finalize - you CAN'T change the chosen directory it has to be in /sounds on the phone or just on the storage card root directory.

I've currently got my ringtones in Storage Card/My Documents and the Settings menu is quite happy picking them up from there.

Can't set individual (personalised) ringtones from the Storage Card though. Weird! :)

I've tried putting some in the locations you mention but the settings>sounds menu doesn't pick them up.

if you use the latest ROM, then you would be able to use MP3 as a ringtone, and you lso get WMP10.

As far as I know, this is the latest (legal) version that's available in the UK. Apparently, there is a newer version but it's not been officially released here yet & I don't know where to get hold of the "leaked" version.

How do I download the latest software update?

Before you perform your update, please ensure that:

    * You are not already running the most recent software. To check this power up your SPV and go to Start, Settings, About. Your Operator ROM version shouldn't be 4.2.1.1

    * Your SPV C500's battery is fully charged.

    * Your PC is running Windows® 98, 2000 or XP.

    * You have backed-up all of your personal data (contacts, appointments, tasks) using ActiveSync (3.7.1 or higher) or Orange backup (in the Start/Orange folder on your phone).

  1. Connect your phone to the power supply and PC via the USB cradle. Whilst performing the update, don't disconnect your phone from the power supply or from your PC and don't touch any of the buttons on your phone.

  2. Click on the link below to download ROM update 4.2.1.1. Select Save and save the file to disk.

  3. Unzip the file you just downloaded.

  4. Double-click the .exe file you unzipped.

  5. Follow all instructions in the installation wizard that appear on screen.
