Guest richard.hillary Posted July 3, 2005 Report Posted July 3, 2005 :?: Hi Everyone .. I have a question about setting up MMS on the C500 after the Qtek 8010 update. I have followed a number of excellent posts found elsewhere in this forum and have managed to get GPRS going - however I cant get MMS going. I have spotted a couple of other bods around the place in the same situation. It seams to stem from the fact that there is no ORANGE MMS listed to connect to. I have entered everything else. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction please ? Rich (PS : Newbie - so be gentle)
Guest rudiansen Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Hi, Exact the same problem here ! rudi.
Guest mupwangle Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 I've *never* been able to send MMS messages. Mind you, I've just got a new phone so mibbe I should try again. Anyway, the default orange settings (pre-installed) are: Orange MMS MMSC Address : http://mms.orange.co.uk Data Connection : MMS network Gateway : WAP 1.0 Gateway IP Address : 192.168.224.010 Port : 9201 MMS Network settings : Access point : Orangemms Username : Password : Primary DNS 0.0.0.0 Secondary DNS 0.0.0.0 IP Address : That's all the basic ROM image gives you (4.2.1.1). Dunno if that helps. D

I didn't get MMS working here in Norway either at first, but then one of my friends who read the guide more thoroughly said it started working after he entered the trailing slash after the mmsc URL. For us, that was http://mmsc/ , so I assume for you, it would be http://mms.orange.co.uk/ Ole Kristian

Guest mupwangle Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 Got it. There's a bit that the ROM image missed for UK mms. In Settings-->Data Connections--->GPRS Connections Needs to be one called Orange MMS Connects to: MMS Network Access Point : orangemms Username : Orange Password : Multimedia The roms have this already except the username and password are blank. I changed these and it worked.
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted July 4, 2005 Report Posted July 4, 2005 I'm having problems too. I followed several peoples' advice with settings etc, but still no joy with either MMS or GPRS. I tried using the username and password you stated above, for both the GPRS and MMS, but still no joy.

Guest rudiansen Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Hi, again ! for the problems with MMS after Qtek 8010 update ok, there is the answer... take a look in: Start->Configurations->MMS Settings-> Menu-> MMSC Settings-> Edit.... put the righ values; take a look here: http://www.modaco.com/Settings_Repository-f138.html regards. rudi
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 What about the GPRS? How'd you guys get your GPRS working again? When I enter a new password in the serttings, it reverts back to the old password again for some reason, even after I click "Done". This is really bugging me now!
Guest Jamma14 Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 I have an Sp3i with the latest Qtek ROM and I've set up orange GPRS fine using THIS post, I set up the MMS settings as well and assume they work, although haven't tried yet.

Any ideas ?? Rich

Guest thomj11 Posted August 10, 2005 Report Posted August 10, 2005 I installed the latest rom and feel very happy with it for now. The phone is running great. However, one thing that does bother me is the fact that when i send an MMS message it never auto disconnects the GPRS session like it used to. Is this common for other people and is there anyway of getting around it. You sort of have to guess when the message has sent and then manually stop the GPRS session by holding down the home key at the moment. Just a bit of a pain. Anybody else get this problem?
