Got my Mpx 220 a week now and couldn't figure out how to dial up to the GPRS network via bluetooth using my PC or Laptop. (Win XP Sp2 required)

Here is a solution.

1. Make sure the internet settings on ur phone are correct.. try to browse to a page.. ie. www.google.com etc. Once you get thru .. you know your settings ( from your service provider ) are correct.

2. If you have bluetooth software already installed that came with your bluetooth adapter , uninstall the software and then plug in the bluetooth device.

3. Windows should now detect the device and install its own bluetooth software.

4. Once this completes successfully , pair the devices. Windows will now install a modem named "Standard Modem over Bluetooth Link"

5. Create a new connection under your network connections.. Using this modem as the dial-up modem. Put in the relevant information ... user name , password if any... number... eg. *99# and save the connection.

6. You should now be able to dial-up from your laptop via bluetooth and your mpx 220.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

*99# is how your modem invokes a GPRS session, but the username/password will be carrier dependant. T-Mobile doesn't require one but other carriers do. This type of "guide" needs to be carrier specific. My site has some excellent walk throughs.
