Hi all,

This has probably been answered before but can't find anything

I have a SPV C500 and want to put ringtones onto my storage card rather than the phone memory

I created a folder on my storage card \my documents\sounds and copied some .mwa files in there

When i go to start -> settings -> sounds and then ringtones i can't pick up the ringtones i've installed onto my storage card

Can anyone tell me how i do this ?

If i copy the mwa files in application data \ sounds it will pick them up

thanks for your help

I have not tried but it might work if u create a folder named sounds on Storage card and place them there .Depending of your ROM version it might work even by placing the files on the Storge card in it's root ,with the ROM that has WMP 10 the mp3 files are taken straight from the storage card .

However if nothing that i said helps u ,there is a solution that i use as well ,try cutting the songs using software ,and leave ~ 1 min. of the song as it wont exceed 1MB in size ,and it is less probably that your phone will ring more than 1 minute . :)

Hi

I've created a folder on my storage card called 'Sounds' and in there copied my wma files

But when i click Start -> Setting -> Sounds and navigate through the Ring tone list: the sounds i've just copied into my storage card\sounds folder aren't there

I will paste some of the link from above for you as you don't seem to have read it.

"Once you've got your WAV/WMA ringtone on your PC right click it and Copy, hook up the phone, click on Activesync's "Explore" then go into either:

Storage / Application Data / Sounds or

Storage Card / My Documents

and paste it in.

Now go on the phone and go to Start/Settings/Sounds and select the ringtone!"

Looks like Storage Card>My documents might work. No need for sounds folder.
