Guest PEANUTS Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 has anybody out there had their SPV C500 sync'ed up with a mac? there are various software program's that do the job (pocketmac & markspace), and in particular the pocketmac that is supposed to work with my phone, ultimately does not (i've tried their customer support but i think they try to pretend that i do not exist)!? the mac doesn't even see the phone. markspace hasn't got compatibility (yet) with the SPV. does anyone know some way of making my life so much easier?? thanks in advance. John
Guest Jamma14 Posted July 5, 2005 Report Posted July 5, 2005 Those were the only two I found on google. I'm not a Mac person but on the PocketMac site it says it only supports 10.3 "Panther" & 10.4 "Tiger" What version OS do you have on your Mac???? Also have you tryed connecting it to a Windows PC?? It could be a faulty cable etc.
Guest wolftroy1 Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 I use PocketMac myself and it works without a hitch. The trick I found was I had to pair the bluetooth connection from the Mac, not the phone. The first time I tried it with pairing the phone to the Mac I got nowhere. After that I just go to active sync on the phone and sync using bluetooth and away it goes.

New to bluetooth so must not sure what I am doing with it anyway.
Guest Geeklord Posted July 21, 2005 Report Posted July 21, 2005 We used to connect the SAP1 to an iBook via bluetooth, but that was just to transfer mp3s. The way I used to sync my phone with a Mac was by using virtual PC. Virtual PC simply creates a virual device inside any platform. this means you need to install windows on your virtual pc, as well as any other software you'll be using like outlook. Virtual PC eats RAM like there's no tomorrow.
Guest grotesk Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 You should all take a look at Missing Sync
Guest jcostantino Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 MissingSync doesn't have a Smartphone version of their program ready yet. It's been in the works for a while and "coming soon" for at least a couple of months that I'm aware of. I have tried (and bought, unfortunately) PocketMac for both PPC and Smartphone. Neither of them works properly in my opinion. The SmartPhone version is somewhat stable but you won't be able to sync with ActiveSync on a PC ever again or it'll bork all of your contacts and appointments. Does anyone want to buy my activation codes for the PPC and Smartphone software? I'll sell them for half off of whatever they have listed on their website. This is syncing to a C500 via the USB cable. The iSync connection has not been possible since I upgraded to iSync 2.1, but it used to work fine on 1.5. Stick with it. As a long-term Mac user, PocketMac is the first piece of software that has actually made me think that the Windows universe is not such an alien place. I have had good response from their technical department with previous problems (the main one being that their download site gave out the previous software which was not compatible with the C500. After running 'check for upgrades', it worked fine...). Jonathan
