IMAP4? and unlockin phone from network c500

i spoke to orange about IMAP4 and they said they dont support it, what is it and what does it do? also i asked about unlockin the phone and they 20 bucks plz, is there anywhere u can get it done nout

For SIM unlocking your phone have a look in the Typhoon section of the site there are a couple of options there, one of which is free.

As for IMAP it's short for Internet Message Access Protocol, a protocol for retrieving e-mail messages. IMAP4 is similar to POP3 but supports some additional features, for example with IMAP4 you can search through your e-mail messages for keywords while the messages are still on mail server. You can then choose which messages to download to your machine.

IMAP allows you to use the mail server as a sort of shell, meaning you dont download the messages, but read them on the server. A bit like webmail, I guess.

Orange might not support it, but others do (blueyonder being one of them).
