Guest blacknitro Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 Hi all, I have a SPV C500. I have just got a nice big 512mb memory card so I can store oodles of lovely mp3s on it. I was wondering, is there any software out there which will allow me to have a "phone mp3s" folder on my PC that I could synchronise with a folder on the storage card on my phone, so to add/remove mp3's frommy phone, I could just change the mp3's in this folder, and synchronise it? Thanks for any tips. Phil M
Guest Driekus Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 (edited) I think this is what your looking for: Windows Media Player 10 has an ability to sync mp3's. Use the guide written by "Gears" from coolsmartphone.com: Article by Gears on Coolsmartphone.com You might have to register on coolsmartphone before you can follow the link. Good luck! PS: you might wanna consider converting your mp3's to 64kbps bitrate wma-files. It saves a lot of storage room with no real loss of sound quality on the C500 (in my opinion). Use dBpowerAMP, it works great! Edited July 6, 2005 by Driekus
Guest blacknitro Posted July 6, 2005 Report Posted July 6, 2005 thanks, yeah, I found the synch stuff in Media player. Looks good! Would still be interested to see if there is anyway I can do it on other files too tho. Good idea about converting my mp3's but I've got loads, it could be quite a task. i guess I will just rotate my music round. I've got 512mb memory card to play with so I reckon I'll be alright ;-)
Guest Driekus Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 (edited) The good thing about dBpowerAMP is that if you have installed it, just open Explorer, go to the directory in which the mp3's are which you want to convert, select them and then right mouseclick. In the appearing menu there's a "convert to" option with the dBpowerAMP speakerbox in front of it. Select this one and it automatically opens the program. Then it's easy: just select the settings you wish (which format to convert to, which directory the converted files have to go in etc) en start converting all the selected files in the directory! Took me a couple of minutes to convert an album of mp3's to wma's. I currently have 7 albums (190 mb) on my miniSD, so you could easily carry over 15 albums on your card this way, and still have room for programs, photos and other stuff.
