C500 Questions

All have a few questions.....

1)

when I go into multimedia album on by SPV C500 the thumb nails appear in the back ground but the busy circle (hour glass thing) is always in the fore ground and never goes away.

Has anyone else had this trouble?

I think it might be related to a courrupt file/s in the my documents directory which I cannot seem to delete (IMG_001.jpg, IMG_002.jpg, IMG_003.jpg and through to IMG_008.jpg)??????

Is it worth updating the ROM?

3)

How do i find out what ROM version im on?

4)

If I did update the rom; my phone has been operator unlocked by Orange so I can use my Vodafone sim, will I need to get this done again? (cost me £20)

1. It could be a corrupt file. Try renaming the file from image.jpg (or whatever) to image.old then rebooting then deleting using ActiveSync's explorer.

The eggtimer problem would arise for me when I was trying to access through Media Album a folder that had too many files in it.

2. Not in my opinion.

3. Start, Settings, About and scroll down. Operator is the relevant number here. If you have 4.2 then you've got the latest anyway.

4. ROM flashing won't affect SIM unlocking.

wait for the egg timer to go away and go into options and then General and make sure scan sub folders is not selected.This will scan all the rom images and games folders and sound effects. I had wait about 2 hrs for it go away as I have a 1 gig card fulll of stuff/pictures music ect..ect. Then if you can change the folder it opens in :)
