Guest alexander.gq Posted July 7, 2005 Report Posted July 7, 2005 I was wondering if there are any iPod media player skins for the smartphone 2003. There is one on Modaco for the Pocket PC here but I can't find one for smartphones. I tried the Pocket PC version on my smartphone and it showed up and everything but only a portion showed up on my smartphone (because the screen res is smaller). Hopefully someone can tweak w/ the files and maybe make it fit on the smartphone... file by Greywolf_Ghost : MiPod Windows Media Skin (Pocket PC)
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 I'd love that myself actually. Hope someone can work their magic on this!
Guest Big_Dogg123 Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Is there no-one able to create this?

I just got my Audiovox SMT 5600 ( Rogers ) and it will most likely be another few days before I get tired of looking at the standard skin...................... I will see what I can whip up. I am just trying to find the answers to a question or too. How and where do I place the skins in this thing to get them to show???? I have a few trials ready to go but no matter where I place them they don't seem to show up. Please don't tell me I have to make a cab and get it signed ( no idea how to do that either )
Guest alexander.gq Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 I have found WMP skins to be very tricky. There are few here on modaco forums and some on airfagev.com but they don't seem to work. :x Here is a website that shows you how to install the skins.. (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=655334). There is a nice Carmen Electra skin by TriAxis on the forum that I currently have on my smartphone. I started another WMP skin thread eariler and TriAxis responded w/ his link. Maybe this time he will respond with an iPod skin :) goodluck greywolf

Did you infact get skins to display? If so how? Please be detailed and clear. I have a ton of skins I can convert but I have to be able to display to know if they work.
Guest alexander.gq Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 I don't really know how to tweak the registry or anything like that. The member "TriAxis" is the one to ask. He made the only skin that actually works... Maybe you could PM him and ask him some specific questions..
Guest scott2eyes Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 There's a link in my sig which, if you follow the relevant links, should take you to a useful tutorial for skinning media player.
Guest scott2eyes Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 Here's a background image I've made for a template, should anyone fancy trying this one out. Doubt I'll have the time to put the whole skin together myself at the moment. Angelfire won't let me post links (or rather, won't let links work), but here's where you can find it. http://www.angelfire.com/darkside/srn/iPodSkin.jpg Just a photo of an iPod, shrunk to 180x176 pixels, and slightly rearranged to make better use of the screen area (bigger buttons, wider "screen".)
Guest alexander.gq Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 Anglefire blocks me from seeing the image for some reason. it says "image hosted by anglefire"... maybe you could attach the image to your post

I did note in your set of instructions the use of the folder ISPM , that 2002 O/s correct? The SMT5600 and C500 are 2003 Thankyou for the link and a well done easy to follow layout !!! It will be handy to 2002 users. The thing that just cooks my goose is why have a Skins function in the menu if you can't use it............. :|
Guest scott2eyes Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Angelfire don't allow off-site linking to images. (Most free web hosts don't.) You can copy and paste the URL to the address bar and it should work, but I've put it onto another hosting account;

I am still working on it. It has taken me this long just to figure out how to get a Rom file to move over to my PC. I got it and I am working on a theroy. You should not need to reg edit to change a skin, it's in the options menu on the SMT5600 so like a Pocket PC it should read from a Skin folder. The handicap in any skins done so far has been incorrect formatting of the skn file.......which so far is holding true. I will update as soon as I finish my test.
Guest greywolf ghost Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 I was right :) I am Whil E. Coyote Super Genus I restored my phone to day 1 no mods in regaurds to Windows Media Player. It was all set to default. So I then with the help of the default.skn file from Rom tinkered with a skin that was in with a full theme from here ( forget which one...needless to say it was for an MPX 200 and did not work on the SMT 5600 ) Placed this skin in \Storage\Application Data\Microsoft\Media Player\Skins ( created the folder via activesync explore) Fired up Media Player went to the options and skins.............had to select previous and there it was a beautiful as can be :D
