Guest usdiver Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 first I would say to check your battery, or to get another battery and try. If that doesn't help, send it in to HTC for a warranty repair (provided it is still under warranty)...
Guest usdiver Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 I forgot to ask, you say you flashed the new orange rom...? is that the new uk rom update everyone has been complaining about? if so, might want to inform HTC as the new update as far as I know has not been released. The 4.1.1.4 is the newest available and (legal) update that I am aware of. But still check or replace the battery first. Sometimes batteries can just "go" with no warning or anything. Very rare but it does happen
Guest gregbarton Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 i meant as new rom was the current latest orange rom i downloaded from orange website! im goin to test the battery and then decide weather to try new battery or do warranty return as its still in warranty!
Guest gregbarton Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 no battery is fine giving out good voltage and current so i thing i will do warranty return has ne1 had ne experience of this how should i do the forms on the htc website eg when filling out cosmetic details as sum1 told me they also repaced casing and sorted dust for free when he sent he back for repair!
Guest Tech Posted July 10, 2005 Report Posted July 10, 2005 the orange update was released last year (mid) - was on my phone anyway when i got it in nov. as for giving it for a repair - walk into your orange shop with the reciept of your phone and tell them the problem, they will send it for repair but remember - it will take anything from 2 to 8 weeks for repair.
Guest usdiver Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 You can either take it to orange (takes longer) or call HTC and tell them what has happened...then they will book it in for repair. Then they will investigate the problem and let you know of their findings...going directly through HTC will be quicker. number is 08712230217. or www.htceurope.com talk to Tim Morvan and give them your imei number as well. I will say though, if you ring them and they say your phone is out of warranty, it is because they go by the actual date of manufacture of the phone (determined by your imei number). Otherwise, if you have written documentation from orange, ie: a receipt or contract with the date of purchase and imei number on it, then they will honor that. I just can't work out what could be wrong, seeing as how your battery is ok, and you successfully flashed the rom....?????
