Guest PPCPassion Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 I usually use start>settings>remove programs option to uninstall programs (instead of acitve syn). I have noticed that certain programs (for example Total commander, battery pack pro) uninstalled fine using this method and they do not show up under program list or even under window's stat up menu. However, if I go back to start>settings>remove where it shows a list of all the installed programs, these previously uninstalled programs still show up in the lsit. If I click on these programs to uninstall, I don't even get an error message<"unable to remove program from your phone.........."I turned on/off the phone but w/o any luck. I have a feeling that some type of fragments are sitting somewhere in the registry. If someone can help me just to identify the folder where all the installed programs reside, probably I can delete those uninstalled programs residual from the registry. I use PHM Registry editor and my phone is SMT5600. Note: I have not encountered any problem running any other programs but it's just annoying to see uninstalled programs under the list of currently installed programs. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted July 11, 2005 Report Posted July 11, 2005 have you looked in Storage\Windows\AppMgr and checked the app is still listed? If it is and asd you say, you have uninstalled it then you should be ok to delete it there.

Only other thing I can think of is, since one of the programs I installed on the mini sd card, that may be the reason for my above listed issue? Although, I don't see the program even listed on the mem card. Another interesting thing is when I tried to re-install the same programs, I get an error message," Unable to install programs on your phone..." which I kinda understand. Since I don't have the "original" temp file listed under storage>windows>appMgr but instead sitting somewhere in my registry which may be the reason for being unable to re-install the program. I am just trying to prevent hard reset and re-installing each program one by one. I tried hard reset but restored from Sprite Back up and of course problem persists since the back up copy had this "bug". I'll wait few more days and see if someone at Modaco can help me. If I don't get an answer on this forum that means solution does not exists and I have no other choice but to hard reset the phone. :?: Thanks for taking the time to respond.
