Guest Disco Stu Posted July 12, 2005 Report Posted July 12, 2005 Just got one of these...where is the best place to discuss?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> What, you don't like this section ? :) Pocket PC Phone Edition after all.
Guest TigerNet Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 ...heh heh...this section it is then... ...I have to say, my first impressions of this are good...a little bigger than the Jam, but has a keyboard. Way smaller than the Blue Angel and therefore usable as a phone... ...I have paired it with a Bluespoon AX headset and so far have not gone back to the SP3... ...two card expansion slots - SD and Mini SD - very creative...now to get a wifi card... ...will post further ramblings as I get them...any questions on it, just ask... Cheers Nick
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 (edited) Will you be getting the WM2005 update for that ? Obviously I mean the official update from HP... Edited July 14, 2005 by Disco Stu
Guest cclboss Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Been using it for about 10 days and pretty happy so far. The battery life is the one major complain but otherwise, even the speed is very acceptable (although Spb PocketPlus didn't quite agree with it...slow) The keyboard keys are a little small compared to Blackberry or Treo but after awhile, you can get used to them. The GPS is a lot of fun when drving around. One feature I miss is the Photo Caller ID program that comes with all HTC smartphones now. I can't see who's calling (picture) and there is no way to customize the ringtone per caller. Have yet to test out the effectiveness of 850 Mhz as I have not been to the US with this phone yet. The EDGE seems to work ok although it is sometime difficult to tell the difference when receiving email and surfing the web. That's it for now.

Guest Disco Stu Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Well I'd have to ban the pair of us if we were talking about anything dodgy ! :) I read on PDAGold.com (I think) that HP were going to release an update to WM2005 for all their PPCs but I don't think it is out yet. It was reported on here that Eten are doing the same for their M500
Guest TigerNet Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 ...found this link... http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/pscmisc/vac...oming_soon.html ...hopefully the more recent iPaqs will also be supported... Cheers Nick
