Why would you want to use their service and pay 20 pounds if you can do it for free (don't know if it still works after the update, otherwise unlock it first, then do the update..).

because i paid and unlocked back in march when i got the phone, just so everyone knows there is no need to unlock again after the update its still working fine.

you shouldn't need to unsimlock after any of the updates, application lock you have to do after every hardreset (and update)
