Downgrading to earlier Rom - tutorial + links

I needed to find a way to downgrade from the recent French Rom so i could do a fresh install of the new English Rom! I realise this information is on other posts but thought people would find it helpfull to have it all together.

Here is my process:

1. Follow instructions here to downgrade: http://www.mobismart.net/forums/Default.aspx?g=posts&t=683

using old c500 rom: http://web.orange.co.uk/yourphone/spvc500/...l?id=sm_1137635

2. install new uk rom

n.b your phone must be application unlocked using either this site http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdef.aspx

or contacting [email protected] and ask for a personalised Security Level Setting application. Include in the email:

Full name

The Mobile Number of the SPV to be unlocked

Daytime Contact Number

IMEI number (type *#06# into handset)

they reply quickly - i got my application in 15 mins!
