Guest greywolf ghost Posted July 13, 2005 Report Posted July 13, 2005 Ok this may have been hashed out by a smarter SP user then me, but I was not able to find a post on it. Anyway just a slight Db adjust ment in any MP3/WMA sound editor will do the trick. I found this out as I have 2 files that have been a pain, on my home system the sound is ok, but I have audio boot and a powered speakers. On my Audiovox they were weak as heck and hard to hear. So I ran them through Roxio Sound Editor. Like this..................................... Pre boost Tweeking the levels ( added a simple 5 Db gain and tweaked the rest a touch ) After the Tweek ( file save and transfer to my SP ) It worked like a charm, now 100% volume is too loud ( no distortion either ). Anyway there are many many Freeware and adware sound editors, plus Microsoft offer Win Media Encoder for free ( can adjust sound levels ). If you have a sound editor I would say run your MP3's and WMA throught to tweek them up a bit for mobile use :) I hope this helps someone get better sound form their unit, as it helped me a ton!!! ***TIP : Remember kids a little goes a long way, be careful when you up the Db level, too much will kill good sound and could hurt your ears** :D
