Guest Wastedyuthe Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I have dl'd the new UK rom from Orange and installed okay. However, I am having real problems with the screen not timing out now even though the settings have been set (backlight time out 5 seconds, display time out 1 minute). It works for a while, and then for some reason the screen stays on, backlight and all. The only way to get it to work is to switch the phone off and then on again. Any ideas? I was also disapointed with wmp10- no equaliser?! I don't know why I bothered.
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Backlight has been working fine for me :?: Not a fan of WMP either :)
Guest jporch316 Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 Backlight fine here - wmp10 well overrated - not worth all the backing up and reinstalling
Guest moosery Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 I can almost hear orange shrug and say "you wanted it, you got it".
Guest b1ackb1rd Posted July 14, 2005 Report Posted July 14, 2005 ... and I can almost hear myself saying "hello vodafone, that blackberry looks good"

I also have a second C500 phone with the newer TCPMP ver 0.66a loaded and that seems to OK.

It is possible I have the version that causes the problem, although I have only dl'd it last week and thought it was the latest. I will try uninstalling it and dl'ding the 0.66a. Thanks for the info.
Guest jporch316 Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Ids TCPMP is the new name for betapalyer.
Guest qwiki Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 Is TCPMP is the new name for betapalyer. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. TCPMP stands for 'The Core Pocket Media Player'. The same clapperboard icon is used in the menu but with the word 'CORE' instead. So, the most important question is do we all call it TCPMP (which is a bit of a mouthfull) or simply 'Core'. Suggestions?
Guest martin Posted July 15, 2005 Report Posted July 15, 2005 I have TCPMP, but I am not sure which version it is, how can I find out? <{POST_SNAPBACK}>Select File-About in the the core player to display the version number. I downloaded VER 0.66a from http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/test/ which sorted the backlight issue for me :) BTW don't forget to post any TCPMP issues to http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/ :D
Guest pjam001 Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 (edited) I'm not on the new ROM but I'm having this same problem with TCPMP. Downloaded from here: http://tcpmp.corecodec.org/download The "about" option just says ver.0.66 I also had the same problem with betaplayer. Any other answers or alternatives? Cheers Edited July 26, 2005 by pjam001

I can't access this page from the Tcpmp website.
