Hello ppl

So ive got my sparkly new C550 home, appx. 6.00PM, absolute virginal...no tinkering...go to change the date and time...SETTINGS COULD NOT BE OPENED!

1. Has anyone else experienced this?

2. Do i need to go back too the shop where i got it from? Or go to any Orange shop?

3. ????

Thanks in advance...

PS-will ActiveSync-in with my PC correct this??? I give it a-go

PPS-my E200 has done this recently, after DeCert-in the phone and using Mobiluck, smatexplorer etc...will they ACCUSE me of doing this????

Thanks again...

UPDATE-

ActiveSync-ing with my PC has corrected this issue, but this means I cant set my alarm clock :) but i think i'll paying my local Orange retailer a visit tomz morning! :?: [ALTHOUGH WITH THE E200 THE DAMN THING HAS TO BE ON TO WORK ANYWAY, IM GUESSING THIS WILL APPLY TO C550]

UPDATE - SAT 16 05

Popped into Orange this morning, and matey boy sorted it right out...for sum reason under REGIONAL settings, SHORT DATE STYLE, SELECTING 16.7.05, will not allow you to open the date and time settings.

HOW STRANGE!?!

I got mine about 2:00, and changing the date/time worked fine - of course they may have changed something on the newer ones :)

Well this won't help you but it may make you feel a little less alone. I have exactly the same problem on my 500 model. And my alarm clock is set at 7 am! I think I will have to reinstall windows mobile but I can't seem to find a download yet so I'm trawling MoDaCo....

This is a known bug and has been around since the very first SPV back in 2002.

I found the cause of this problem recently and it's caused by a glitch in the registry.

If you want to have the shortdate style I have posted instructions for fixing this problem.

Also before I forget this bug is down to the actual regional language you use, so if you select Germany for example the bug will not appear.

I have just found this out for myself. I had a conflict between my local time settings and my language. I've just rebooted and now my settings are accessible once more.

PHEW

thanks anyway
