Guest bb79 Posted July 16, 2005 Report Posted July 16, 2005 I'm seriously considering buying an SPV C550 to replace my existing Nokia phone and Palm Zire. I use AvantGo on my Palm every day, syncing with my PC and downloading the news from the BBC and Guardian websites to read off-line on the commute home. But looking at the AvantGo website there is no version for Windows smartphones, just PPC and Symbian phones. Does anyone know of a simple to use newsreader for smartphones? I'm not up on the tech but I've heard of RSS feeds and might there be some sort of RSS reader for MS smartphones? Cheers BB79
Guest bb79 Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 (edited) Any ideas guys? Went and had a good look at the C550 in my local Orange shop and I'm really liking the look if it - but not being able to use AvantGo on it is taking the shine off a bit. There must be some other way of reading news feeds on Windows smartphones! Please, any suggestions will be gratefully received! :) BB79 Edited July 18, 2005 by bb79
Guest bb79 Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 newsbreak might be it? :) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the suggestion :D . I'll go have a look at the website now. I did have a search of this forum for AvantGo and something called Mobipocket was suggested as a replacement - anyone heard of/used this? BB79

I think it is even better than AvantGo, with as many, if not more, channels to choose from and none of those annoying ads. The free version is great, but the full version includes a number of customisation options, and the autoscroll function.
