Guest tom Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Hi all, So, I'm crap. I use Orange backup to backup my contacts list before I do a hard-reset to get rid of the certification stuff. Once that's all gone OK, being the prat that I am, I don't follow through the Orange Backup program properly and end up using the backup function as opposed to the restore function. Thus, my contact list was overwritten and I can't believe what a pain in the arse I've landed myself with. Is there anything I can do? Cheers, Tom.

Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Pat yourself on the back for being a prize plonker? ;) Sorry, think you are probably screwed though. Did you ever use activesync to copy your contacts back and forth between your PC and SPV? If so you could always sync them back...
Guest tom Posted January 20, 2003 Report Posted January 20, 2003 Absolute idiot, agreed :-) Using activesync would have been far too intelligent for me to do. Gah, what a prat.
Guest madu Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 any chance your contacts are on the sim card?? have a look at SIM Manager application on your SPV... Though if you got a new sim with your new spv - you're buggered, coz it does not save contacts to sim by default - orth a try though.
Guest rcraswell Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Tom, This is a solvable problem. Call Orange support and tell them what happened. They should escalate the problem back to a database administrator who can roll you back. If they don't, PM me... --ron
Guest Firaas Posted January 21, 2003 Report Posted January 21, 2003 Ouch ;) I backed my contacts up via Outlook, Backup and Sim just to make sure I wouldn't lose them when I had my handset replaced...
