WMP problems on XDA IIs

Just got my new O2 XDA IIs yesterday. I'm having problems using it as an MP3 player though. I've been used 2 my C500 up to now, but the XDA IIs is totally different! My problem is that when I used my C500 (with WMP 10), I just selected a song, locked the keys and let it play away. But I can't do that with the XDA as I can't find a way to lock the keys. When you hit the power button to turn the screen n all off, it turns WMP off. I'm just lookin for the best way to use my XDA as an MP3 player. Preferably the same way as I used my C500.

Also, it can be a bit annpying when you have to take the stylus out every time to change track etc. Is there a way that you can just use the keys on the phone itself?

As always, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers.

There's an assignable function, toggle screen I think it's called, which will turn off your screen without stopping WMP playing.

It's in Windows Media Player / Menu / Options / Buttons

Expect you can redefine the keys to your liking too although haven't experimented that much...

Moved to Help and Advice (by the way, your device is an HTC Blue Angel so not sure why you were posting in the HTC Magician section?)

Yeah, sorry bout that. LOL. Was gonna go for the M500 which is a magician (Duh!), which is why I was posting in the Magician section, instead of the Blue Angel. But all future posts will be in the Blue Angel section. LOL.

Found a program called DeltaLock which has solved this problem for me!

Cheers for the help!

No probs. Hope you get on with the Blue Angel. It's an incredible device.

Yeah, well now that I have good MP3 functionality and got used to the device, I'm loooooooooving it! :) Still having to reset the device occasionally though. I've got into the habit of using the "Running Programs" app to stop all the programs, which does help! Would you recommend I install a more stable ROM (if this is possible with the XDA IIs)? Also, is there any way to assign a key to specific functions within programs (I want to assign a key to the reply funtion in the messaging app)? Also, is there any way to change the default message box to TXT rather that E-Mail?

Once again, Cheers!

Did you see the link I posted in another of your threads to the O2 XDA site where the latest XDAIIs rom is?

I wouldn't recommend installing another operators rom as things can always go wrong and you don't want to end up with £400 worth of paperweight. But if you're willing to run the risk do some reading here and at the Blue Angel wiki pages of XDA-Developers.com.

I'll check for that post now. Although I checked the XDA IIs section of the O2 site and I already have that latest ROM on there.

EDIT: Can't find your link to latest ROM
