orange update for c500

i tried to install the update yesterday and i followed the instuctions to the leeter but it froze on 99% and locked up my pc and the phone also anybody have any ideas . i tried orange but the operator did not even know that you could update the rom!

A hard reset should send your C500 to the 3 colour screen (boot loader).

Now make sure your firewall is turned off and the mini-usb is plugged directly into the PC's usb (not a usb hub) before reconnecting the C500 using the mini-usb.

Activesync won't connect but don't worry about that. Just re-run the update and it should hopefully complete this time...

just tried what you said, had the 3 colour screen and started again but this time the pc and phone locked on 43%

it is driving me crazy.

even tried to reinstall earlier rom but will not allow it

please anybody have anymore ideas for me

have you got access to another pc? you could try the process on there. I'd also close anoy open programs you have running, including tasks in the system tray. Could even check task manager.

That's good advice. There have been reports in the past of problems like your being solved by using a different desktop or laptop on which to run the update...
