Contacts numbers messed up

Hi there.

I use Activesync which backs up my contacts, decided to install the C500 ROM update there (latest one). The update worked and then I synced my updated phone with outlook again, it restored all my contacts to the phone, all was well.

Sent a few SMS's yesterday, then found out later that they were not delivered when I tried to make a call and couldn't get through.

I noticed that the numbers were all in as "44...." instead of "+44......" which meant they wouldn't work. I had to manually go in to a number I wanted to use and add a "+" to the start.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Same here. Everytime I do a ROM upgrade, I end up losing all the +'s in my contacts. I manually add them later, which is very painful. Anyone knows a solution ?

At least I am not the only one with this problem. I even tried restoring a backup from Orange Backup but the numbers are still the same.

Just tried the answerphone by holding in 1, seems okay, dials +447973100123 anyway.

There is a piece of software somewhere on Modaco for reformatting all your Outlook entries. Search and ye shall find.

Tried the Outlook reformatter, it removed all the spaces in my numbers, but it just left them with 44 instead of adding in a +.

Hi guys

I bought my SMT5600, put my SIM on it, and begun using it

My problem is:

I don't see contact's name when i receive an sms. I only see his number, but in an "odd" format

For example:

John is stored (in sim) with this number: 154031225

when i receive a sms from John i see: +592644031225 and not John

What could I do ? which is the problem ?

my smt5600 has wm2003SE

You need to have the contact stored on the phone and not the SIM.

The + sign is the start of the international number, International numbers from the UK start with +44 you then have the normal number missing the first digit which is 0, so instead of 01489 you would see +441489
