Guest woodak Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Can anyone help? I've installed the latest ROM upgrade from Orange and everything seems to be okay apart from: All voice tags deleted Caller ID photos backed up but when restored not attached to numbers All speed dials deleted PocketMusic no longer works but most annoyingly of all................. I can't change the sounds for new email, new SMS message, Alarm clock, etc. I've managed to change the ringtone via the file a manager but can't find any way to change the others. Is it me? What am I doing wrong. WMP 10 seems good though. Thanks.

Thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi, A ROM update would have deleted all your data on your handset, including the link between your CallerID photos and your contacts as they would have been deleted too. (probably registry keys). Same applies to your voice tags. PocketMusic no longer works, probably because you need to app unlock your handset again. you should be able to assign tones to emails, sms, etc by going to Start > Settings > Sounds. I have the new UK ROM update too and it all wroks fine (except minor issue with Voice mail). Cheers
Guest mupwangle Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 (edited) Did you do a proper backup and restore or just copy the stuff to the PC and back again? If it was the former then it explains a lot as all the rom settings are reset to factory default. No idea why the rest doesn't work. Edit: I wrote the reply before I went for lunch and forgot to press OK - hence the tardy pointless response! Edited July 18, 2005 by mupwangle

I can go to Start > Settings > Sounds but once I've made the change no matter how many times I click on "Done" it does nothing. Short press, long press, makes no odds. The only way I can then get out of sounds is to press the back arrow which erases any chnages. Weird. Edited July 18, 2005 by woodak
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Try uninstalling Pocket Music. It may have taken over the file association. This has been a problem with BetaPlayer with C500s
