Guest oldyeller Posted July 18, 2005 Report Posted July 18, 2005 Hello- I had a water incident with my SMT5600 a couple of weeks ago. I dried it for a few days before trying to use it. It survived *fairly* well, but has a couple of problems. Just want to draw on the experiences of others as I try to tackle these. First, frequently when the phone comes out of screen saver, the display goes all white. It's fine after a reboot. I had read somewhere that opening the phone and reseating the display connector may help. One thing I was concerned about is voiding my warranty, but I figure the warranty is pretty much shot now that I've gotten the phone wet. Any thoughts? Second, my battery life is terrible since the incident. Battery completely drains in 24 hours of standby, and can only be recharged with the wall charger. I wonder if the battery is trashed, or if the water damage could be causing the phone to use more juice. Anyone had a similar issue before I buy a new battery? Thanks- Old Yeller
