Guest spider Posted July 19, 2005 Report Posted July 19, 2005 Hi There, In the begining of next month I will be going to UK (London) for a week for vacation....and I thought well why not look for a C550 at the same time...now the question is: Were do I find a C550 which is cheap and which is service provider unlocked...Any response would be great...and if possible with a weblink to the shop or any other information about the shop adress and the price would be great... Can't give you any actual shop names or any guarantees that they'll have (unlocked) C550's in, but there are plenty of places on Tottenham Court Road in London that sell electronics, imported (often grey import) goods and unlocked phones. It won't be cheap though, but you WILL get a decent discount by offering cash. If you don't get a discount, walk away - they'll either call after you or there'll be another shop that will discount it.

They're generally perfectly legal....however they *may* be grey imports (ie, bought in from overseas and the UK rom flashed to them) so you may not get a UK guarantee. Others may be from "broken boxes" where the shop will buy the phone on Pay As You Go, strip out the sim card and sell that and the phone seperately for more than the PAYG box originally. Personally - I've bought computer equipment cheap on TCR, but never a phone. Not that I wouldn't, just never have.
