Which applications are compatible or not?

I started using TomTom 5 on my C500, and however attractive the new C550 seems to be, I would like to make sure TomTom works on it before getting one.

Anyone tried already ?

TT5 currently isnt working on the C550 because of the resolution differences but TomTom are apparently working on a fix.

ClearView Suite works just fine. Only the file browser is cropped, viewing the documents can be done at full screen..

ClearView is a word, powerpoint, image and excel sheet viewer.

Agile messenger kinda works b ut its only using about a third of the display

WORMS > 75% screen fill

Dougie Lamkins > Returns to teh homescreen after you hitting play.

SP Task manager > fine A little cropped

City times alarms > fine

TT5 > Dead

PoCKET mini Golf 2> Full Screen

VP Mobile > Informed them and they are working on a fix

Ruttensofts Homescreen Designer are working on a upgrade to thier software :)

Not tried many more. I feel a little deflaited after all the hype.

Why couldnt they just have an option to change screen size

TCPMP works ok.

Smart Explorer works ok.

SmartphoneNotes works ok.

aStopwatch won't display correctly, missing last set of digits.

allexport works ok.

Resco Photo viewer works ok.

Resco System Tools display's kinda ok, cut's the bottom off the text, but readable.

Dont care anymore. My C550 is boxed up ready to go back. Hopefully I'll get a M500 if failing that I'll just have to wait untill something nice comes out :)

I was really hopeing that the screen res problem wouldn't bother me but it did in under 3 days.

Ptab fine

Clearview fine

Games:

Smart darts tiny screen view

Chix tiny screen

Wolfen crashed the phone

Eclipse the same as above has a large border, my eyes are bad as it is

Atlantis the same as above

I gave up after the above,,,,,any chance any of the MODs reading this and assisting with some of our partners and getting some patches to improve the screen resolution,,,,,,,,,,,,

I cant decide what to do for the best send it back or stick with it, if the patches come along great, otherwise the phone is a bit pooh really!!!!!!

I guess it'll be up to the software' makers whether to provide with an adjsuted version. I suppose major ones will be updated quite soon with a free upgrade for registered versions. I personally will wait a litlle before buying, especially knowing there will soon be the C600 with Windows Mobile 2005.

I can't get Copilot to run in the correct res :?: It just looks wrong and the text is almost unreadable. :)

Send it back

You have no control over if/when "fixes" for these apps will come out. You can send your phone back now and lose nothing, or you can put up with it in the hope that all these different developers update their software

These are the sorts of reasons why I didn't rush out to get one.

My C500 is showing it's age, but it works!

I seriously need to know if John Cody's alerts works on the c550?

I have only just started using this app. but it has become invaluable as an advanced alarm.

If this does not work I may have to hold off getting the c550 until it does!!

Tom Codys alerts works on mine ok. So far only problem i seem to have sms notify. I now even have Tom Tom Mobile 5 working on it :)

Kevtris didnt appear to work on my phone, what am i doing wrong? Smartris appears to work but with a border, and you cant select anything on the main menu other than to start a new game. Also B-Tris doesnt work.

Xetra thermo works fine on my C550-its just 75% and displayed top left(no border) and the very bottom of the numbers is cut off but its still readable-They were slow to bring out a C500 version so I m sure it ll be months before we get a C550 version......
