Can I delete these files from SPV?

I have just been clearing out some junk from my phone and came across these files in the ISPMWindows folder. As you can see they take up quite a bit of space. From the filenames i gather they are something to do with text messages.

Can i delete these files?

As far as I know the only files that are 'safe' to delete are the contents of your ISPM>MAPI file. This should free up a bit of space. These files are just messege body texts. Have a look here

Erm, i think you should be ok for all those files except the 'mxip_initdb.vol' cos none of those files exist in my IPSMWindows folder.

just make sure you have copies of any mails you wanna keep. and dont blame me if anything goes wrong

I have those in my 'Windows' folder, but not in my 'IPSMWindows' folder. They take up alot of space. I don't know if I should delete them or not.

if they are in your windows folder then dont delete em, those are the actual protocols for sending/receiving, chances are you cant delete them out of the windows folder anyway as most files are write protect there

They are also not that big. Neill what-his-face from MS said that their sizes are incorrectly reported. Remember your IPSM folder can only be 8Mb in total so that kinda confirms that. I'd just leave 'em.

Yep, some people have reported file sizes of over a gigabyte sitting in the IPSM heheh

Yeah, but they look important, don't delete them I reckon.

Cheers for the advice guys. I dont think i'll be erasing those files now. Best to be safe than sorry. Made a slight mistake though, the files weren't in the ISPMWindows folder but the other windows folder. Had a long day yesterday.

Anyway cheers!

in that case you cant delete them anyway, they are write protect

out of interest, i have looked into these files with a hex editor, and the two i tried where actually blank and there is no way they are the reported size either
