Activesync & 4.2.1.1

Hi -

I've dredged through Modaco to see if anyone else has had this issue but to no joy:

I've upgraded my C500 to ROM 4.2.1.1 from Orange UK site (the 'official' version) - that went without a hitch and after upgrading, upon rebooting the phone "re-found" the PC.

The PC then did the whole set-up-partnership wizard thing which worked fine - everything re-synced back as before, except for some reason I can't increase the number of days for the outlook inbox to be synced from the default 3 days. Changing it to say, 2 weeks worth (14 days) just causes ActiveSync to crash. I've tried upgrading ActiveSync to V4.0 from the V3.7 I had but no dice :) - anyone else noticed this and found a fix?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the new ROM file I stuck on the phone. I find having more than 3 days worth of mail synced in my phone useful...

You might want to install ActiveSync V3.8. I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, that V4.0 is for devices using Mobile 5.

Ha - didn't think of that...... but doesn't that then v3.7 should have worked also?

You're not entirely wrong (Microsoft did state at TechEd recently that they weren't going to roll out Activesync 4 until Windows Mobile 5 shipped) but I've found Activesync 4 works superbly syncing both my Smartphone and Pocket PC Phone (seperately of course - still won't sync more then 1 device at once).

Only thing wrong with Activesync 4 that I know of is that they've removed the facility to sync over wifi...

@Jonathanqwert: Sorry, not idea why that would be happening, will try and confirm if happens on mine later.
