can't use anything ..

hey everyone. my sister has an mpx200 with windows 2002, and one day it just stopped working. she can receive calls with no problem at all. but she can't make any calls. when she presses the number buttons, you can hear the key tone, but nothing appears on the screen. we tried dialing a number (even though we can't see the numbers appear on the screen) but it doesn't work. she can't change a thing on her phone. she can't change her ringtones, hear voice notes, view the calendar, use the alarm or even put it on silent. she is thinking of just throwing the phone away, or getting a new one. if anyone can help, gimme a shout .. thx a lot!! :)

Could be that the keyboard connector has come loose but I would be surprised.

It may be worth trying a hard reset.

I have the same phone and occasionally i get the same type of screen glitches...try upgrading the firmware or a master reset. But be sure to back up all your data via ActiveSync if you plan on a master reset.

Hi,

I'd try a hard reset first, if you can,do as the man say's, sync your contacts and calendar, etc first, then, turn off the phone, give it a few secs, hold down the blue button and switch it on, reset>yes. THEN be patient don't panic too much it does take a fair few minutes, formatting then the welcome screens, after that you'll need to re-sync it, app unlock it and find and install all your favorite programs.

I would not upgrade the firmware as it is not related to the peoblem. Remember, regarding firmware updates etc there are no legal downloads available.
