Guest mikeeyy Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 Hi I just bought a spv c500 a few days ago and being browsing the net for information on how to add software, music, movies etc. I previously used a nokia 3210 (POWER hehe) so im new to adding software to a phone and such. I have seen on coolsmartphone.com that there is media players such as tcpmp which play ogg vorbis, divx etc and I wondered after you have installed these can you remove them and can they cause any damage to your phone? I payed alot of money for it and just abit scared I might break something  thx Mike
Guest squall Posted July 22, 2005 Report Posted July 22, 2005 if the worst does happen you can always hard reset the phone which will wipe it back to its factiry condition. the only expection to this is rom updates - there are a few which are leaked versions, if you install these (they are around 16mb) there is a chance the phone would be damaged and your network wouldnt cover a replacement / repair
Guest ad241 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 you can uninstall the programs that u have installed by going to : Start-->Settings-->More-->Remove Programs.
Guest nvkid909 Posted July 23, 2005 Report Posted July 23, 2005 some programs you can't install until you application unlock your phone (remove some security certificates installed by orange) also look around for PIEPlugin.cab that lets you download some more file types when using internet on your phone. oh & smartexplorer is probably the main program to put on your phone (if you have'nt already) lets you view files on phone & install progs from there i prefer to remove programs on the phone (in settings), that way, they will also be removed from remove programs list. strangely, some are still on the list if i remove using activesync or smartexplorer, don't know how to change that..
