Until I upgraded to the new Rom I was quite happy with the battery life of my C500. Now for some reason my battery life is hideous. The battery dropped two bars overnight last night just sitting idle.

I think I've properly set my power management settings to the way I originally had them set on the old Rom.

Has anyone else experienced the same thing or has any explanation?

Make sure Infrared, Bluetooth are OFF, they draw quite a lot of battery juice.

Did you have the battery fully charged before upgrading? Tests have shown it makes a difference to post upgrade battery life...

The battery should be fully charged when you do the ROM update then, immediately afterwards, do a hard reset.

I've no idea why but it was recommended with previous updates and my battery life is still good with my C500.

are you using the wall charger or the sync charger? coz in my experience the battery drains out faster when i use the sync charger and longer battery life when i use the wall charger. :)

I was almost out of battery life when I downloaded the upgrade from the net. Since the instructions said I should have a battery life of at least 50%, I charged it up using the USB cable until it was just over 50%.

If I had known it would affect battery life, I would have been patient enough to wait for a full battery. :)

Any ideas on how to fix this? Because obviously its not something wrong with the battery itself, surely it must be the charge cycle? [guessing]
