txt message name display

this is puzzling me, when you send a txt msg on the spvm500, how do you get it to diplay the name in the phone book and not the number? when ive been sending txts this morning, 3 have displayed the number and 1 has displayed the name, which is better

If you use the onscreen keyboard to type the first few letters of the name, it will allow you to autocomplete, and will lsit the recipient as "Jeff <012345678>".

The T9 pad doesn't allow you to autocomplete - and picking from the contacts popup simply adds the number.

Yeah, the T9 doesn't let you, which is a real pain. I have to use the kb to type the first letter of the name, then switch to T9 to type the message. Ah well....
