*sigh*

just got my C550 yesterday. Obviously very upset that there is no WM2005.

Put that aside, the phone has been registered etc... with orange UK

I am trying to disable the security certificate using the website i normally use:

http://developer.orangews.com/orgspv/comdefq.aspx

however everytime i try to unlock it - states that the IMEI number could not be found on the database!

works fine for the E200 and C500 but not C550.

I phoned up orange and they say that it's out of their hands, its all down to the hardware manufacturer - HTC europe

I already made a huge rant about HTC europe and WM2005 in a thread here at modaco... just shows that the quality is dropping dramatically :)

IS there a way to application unlock/disable security certificate on the C550?

if not, I guess I will just go back and return it today and get another C500.

thanks!

why did you think it had wm2005? how does supplying a device with a working os (rather than an untried in the real world one) indicate a drop in quality?

You probably just needed to register you IMEI on their database by downloading and running the register application. There have been many members who have already app unlocked the C550 without any problems.

Oh well, I've just read in another thread that you have already taken the C550 back and replaced it with a C500 :|
