Hi people,

I've just jumped back into the world of the Smartphone this morning after buying the Orange SPV C550.

I've been struggling with the not so user friendly Activesync. First I thought I would try connecting via Bluetooth (like I do with my pda) but I couldn't seem to establish a serial COM partnership. So I gave up and thought I would try the sure fire USB method. Plug the lead in and sure enough it appears in my XPSP2 as a Windows CE USB device. Ask Activesync to find it and it finds nothing.

I've been onto tech help for a while (going up the tech help tree higher and higher!) and they went through the obvious things like uninstall, reinstall device and software before saying that the phone is faulty.

Does anyone else agree with me that since it is recognised correctly by windows, it wouldn't be a phone fault.

Anyone else been having problems of this nature too?

Cheers

Have made sure that the "Allow connections to one of the follwoing" box is unchecked in the Activesync connection settings?

USB sync wont work if the box is selected to allow other com ports to be used and if you had previously used Bt then thats robably the case.

MS Firewall is used but I tried taking it down and trying to no avail.

The only connection selected is the USB one although when I try to connected it still poles the COM's.

????
