What are the properties of the video/audio file ? Have you tried converting the video to 220x176 resolution ?

In order to see the file properties u have to find something like File>Properties in the menu ,and u can change the res to 176x220 with a program that makes video coding .

From Windows Explorer on the PC, highlight the WMV file, right click the mouse, select Properties and click Summary tab. Hopefully you should have the file information including the image width and height :)

You could use Windows Media Encoder to convert the file to something more manageable for the C500 :D

When you go through the Windows Media Encoder wizard for converting a file, select "Pocket PC" mode when it gives you the list of different storage methods. That looks to be the closest out of the options for size.

You should end up with a video that plays a lot better and, handily, is much smaller than the original too! :)

If you're purely playing them on the phone, you won't be. The phone cannot show you all the 448x360 pixels the file's got, so it's spending it's time trying to work out which ones to show you on the 220x176 screen - hence the choppy performance. If you do the shinking beforehand you'll still be looking at exactly the same resolution you were on the phone, but the phone can concentrate on playing the video smoothly rather than having to shrink it and play it. Also, you won't be carrying round the extra pixels that it couldn't play before, so the filesize will be smaller.

If you're also looking to play the file on a larger screen too (say, your home PC too) then keep the original file and save the smaller one too so you'd end up with:

OriginalFile.wmv

and

OriginalFile(Smartphone).wmv

That way, you've got one to run smoothly on the phone and one to run when you have a larger screen available.

Best advice, try converting one (preferably small to save time) file and see if you can tell the difference between the original and the "converted to PPC" one. If you can't - go with the one with the smaller filesize. :)
