Guest jsisson Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 So you've gone to Start / Settings / System / Button Lock? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yep! This takes me to an options menu entitled "when keypad is on:" this is mearly a preferences menu and not a way to actvate the lock. in any case - this would imply that you would have to go start, settings, system, button lock in order to take it off!! which kinda is the opposite of goal!! orange suggested the same thing. what i am after is a quick lock button like every orher smartphone (ie push and hold red) any ideas?
Guest Pondrew Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 Don't think we can be talking about the same screen. When I press Start, then Settings, then System, then Button Lock, I get the 'When device is off: 1) lock all buttons except power 2) Do not lock buttons. Either your Blue Angel is different to mine or...?
Guest Pondrew Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 By selecting option 1 you activate the button lock which prevents the device turning itself on the screen is touched or a keyboard button is pressed. Is this what you were trying to do?
Guest xda-rocks Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 The problem with BA devices is that they turn themselves back on if you get any kind of notification. Try ScreenLock for PPC. Read the feedback as you have to press the calender and messaging buttons to unlock your device.

Works just fine - have solved my problem perfectly! you have to push power&calender&messaging at the same time - but this is just what i needed thanks everyone!! :)
