Guest dotcomdoc Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 (edited) OK I'm getting an MPX 220. But I have a few newbie questions.. 1. I live in an area with horrible reception. the V551 I got from cingular is the only phone known to man to get signal at my house. I need to be able to return the MPX if it cant get reception here. Do I have to buy from motorola (they quote about an extra $100 vs online resellers) to have the option of returning it for bad reception? Many of the online resellers say "no return" so does this mean I can return it to motorola? Will motorola take it back if it was sold by another retailer? 2. Does anyone know if the reception between the v551 and mpx is comparable? 3. Any MPX 220 from any reseller has the exact same hardware? 4. Any other advantage buying directly from moto besides losing an extra $100?? Thanks for putting up with me... Edited July 25, 2005 by dotcomdoc

Guest bmetelsky Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 I bought mine from a Cingular outlet. They have a 30 day policy, I believe, so that it could have been returned for just about any reason during those first 30 days. I didn't need to return mine - I am pleased with it, even more now that the 1.43 upgrade fixes a few annoyances.

Guest wildmanviper Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Its a quad band phone, should work anywhere, I find that when you are in the middle of a mountain in colorado, no signal, bummer since I have to walk 20 feet from the center to make a call, or just ride the elevator to the top and then use my phone.
