Closing Programs With the SPV c500

HI i am new to the forum and i just wanna say that this forum is really good and its helped me so far with all of my problems with me SPV c500.

Right now for the Problem

I have recently just purchased and SPV C500 and i was wondering how i close programs because when i go onto my task manager the programs are still running and its waisting my memory.

Please reply .

Open Task Manager, press Menu (right soft key), scroll to stop all and select (press action button), phone will display are you sure... etc.... select OK (left soft key).

Yes i Know that but my mate has got the same phone and he says that they automatically close on his 5 mins after the keypad has been locked. and i dont know about setting this how wud i go about doing so?

So let me get this right everytime i want to close programs i have to do so through task manager?

Well, some or to say most 3rd party programs have "exit" option. But unfortunately to close the rest of them, you need to use Taskmanager. You can press "2" on Taskmanager to close all the running apps at once. And like me u can also assign a shortcut to Taskmanager to save time, if u need to run it frequently.

Right ok and u wudnt be so kind to tell me how to assign a shortcut for task manager?

Applications etc on the phone are not supposed to take up system resources when in the background, this is part of the signing agreement that MS has laid down. This is why a lot of applications do not have the option to quit or exit.

To create a speed dial for Task Manager select it in the Start list, select Menu and choose Add Speed Dial.

Actually I wud . 8) .

Navigate to Task Manager Press the Menu key ( right softkey), then add speed dial and assign the key u prefer.

To open Task Manager with the assigned key simply press and hold the key from the homescreen.
