Guest chedmaster Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 heard people having trouble with syncing music in wmp10, i lost my mini sd adapter so will have to do it by my c550 when i get it on monday, will it work? if anyone has a spare mini sd adapter ill buy 'em a drink with paypal :)
Guest TheBadger Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 (edited) When i first got my phone it synced fine with WMP10, it was storing them to the phone so not many tracks fitted on. then i changed it to sync to the card and it wouldnt work. Haven't tried since. I just drag and drop If you want the album art then just drag that accross to the respective folder and it works fine. Edited July 24, 2005 by TheBadger
Guest chedmaster Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 how strange. i dont suppose a fix is likely any time soon either. do you mean drag and drop through activesync? as this seems to take forever when i do it!

Its not immensly quick, but then it doesnt take too long either. I hope they fix the WMP10 sync issue soon.
Guest pd.ryder Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 I've drag-n-dropped albums from pc to mini-sd with art attached but it won't show up on WMP on the phone! Cut-paste is no better (same thing?). Anyone any clues? I can't sync either, you're not alone. Incidentally, Orange deny any liability to support this issue. I've emailed MS and await a reply.
Guest chedmaster Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 just bought a mini sd card adapter to use in the built in card reader in my printer. its much faster anyway! came to £8.50 inc delivery, rip off i know but the phone was free might as well spend a bit of money to make it work eh? from expansys if your wondering (cheaper from mobile fun but no stock  )
Guest peekie Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 just tryed to sync on my c550 and it works , only problem is it copyed all my mp3s to the phone even a msmoboiles podcast  so it does work , i do have the microsoft plus media edition installed on my computer maybe that helps :)

Guest chedmaster Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 ah well, im very impatient! thanks for the offer, ill probably find mine as well but hey. just reading the specs in the HTC manual: Processor: TI OMAP, 750 MHz wierd, thought it was the same 200Mhz, mistake? Display: Type: Transflective 2.2" QVGA TFT-LCD Resolution: 176x220 at 64k colors 176x220 certainly isnt qvga! theres also quite a few typos in the manual
Guest morpheus2702 Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 (edited) Just to ask an obvious question - has anyone that has done the WMP10 ROM upgrade for the C500 been able to sync their C500? Edited July 25, 2005 by morpheus2702
Guest the loc-man Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Can someone help me with WMP10 and C550. Is it possibel to get them "connected" (sync'ed) together, then can you just add video files (what type are supported) to be able to convert to WMV for the Smartphone? WHat is the process? how do you add video files to be converted? what is supported? MPEG? DVD? etc I cant find any direct info for this process anywhere cheers LOC
Guest pd.ryder Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Had my 550 replaced due to a different issue but now I can't even copy-paste albums, let alone sync them via WMP10. The first one was fine with copy-paste. ARSE! No music in my phone now and no sign of it improving soon. Media buttons eh? For what? :) Email reply from MS was no help, except to ask me to pay for email support or telephone support. I have posted a question on the MVP support forum relating to this issue. Christ, this is really infuriating
Guest pd.ryder Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 A reboot of PC and 550 has let me copy-paste music to the m-SD again :) Phew! It seems the problems with WMP cause the whole ActiveSync transfer issue to clam up until a reboot is performed - I couldn't even transfer program files, install apps etc. I would just like to add, I've had a pleasant conversation with O's Data Support this afternoon. He reassured me O is aware of the issue and will release an update on their website as soon as O & MS have sorted the compatability issue, which reflects what many of you have already posted. This 'very nice man' also told me he reads this forum so "THANK YOU VERY NICE MAN" :D :D

Guest pd.ryder Posted August 14, 2005 Report Posted August 14, 2005 So instead of being sarcastic, we keep bombarding O and MS with emails until it is resolved. I took me several calls to OCS just to get them to admit it was a fault instead of the "we don't support this issue" bullshit.
Guest lowbug Posted August 20, 2005 Report Posted August 20, 2005 I solved my issue by ensure the phone is synced first and then opening WMP10. It found the C550 andsynced :) Might not work for everyone but WMP10 can't find the device after it's started up? ;)
Guest JeffroN1 Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 Don't suppose anyone has heard any updates on this issue? Dragging and dropping files is ok - but not nearly as fun as synching playlists through WMP10 would be... :o
Guest NX5 Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 An update has to be here soon as MS / Orange have teamed up with HMV Digital and will be releasing the C550 in HMV stores for use with their new dowload service!
Guest sponge Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 (edited) I recently got a 1gb card for my c550, so decided to put some music on it. I have just tried using WMP10 and what a pile of rubbish. At first it seemed to be working. It was converting and sync'ing music, but taking a while. So I left it alone and came back 10 minutes later. I thought it had finished, but upon closer inspection I noticed it had aborted. There was no music on my device. In fact, the device had disconntected. I reconnected the phone and attempted to simply drag and drop the music files. But this wouldn't work either! I tried several times, without success. It eventually required a phone reboot. Then, while transferring the music files, I opened WM10 and it killed the transfer! I had to disconnect the phone, reboot it, then reconnect it before I could restart the drag and drop of the music files! Edit: It now crashes if I try to transfer an album in one go. Something it hasn't done before. I have to do it a few songs at a time  Edited September 19, 2005 by sponge
Guest hotphil Posted September 19, 2005 Report Posted September 19, 2005 welcome to the world me the orange 'spv test in live' program. it kind of amazes me that they still fail to test even the basic functionality. spv's always seem to be released with major flaws - a company viewing pound signs rather than customer satisfaction as paramount if ever there was.
Guest ricardo the fish Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 I've so far only managed to sync single, small music files, ie 1 mp3 at a time using either drag and drop or MP10!. thankfully my digital camera connects to my pc as a removeable drive so I can copy music across. Bit annoying but it does transfer faster than sync-ing. Why oh why do smartphones not have the SD/ Mini-SD card as a removable drive thingy? :?:
Guest hotphil Posted September 20, 2005 Report Posted September 20, 2005 i agree, it would even be an improvement if they went back to having the card in a slot on the side. that way at least it could be quickly removed and put in a card reader.
Guest harrysaab Posted November 2, 2005 Report Posted November 2, 2005 wot u mean drag album art across?? its not working on my sp5, i can't see album art on phone but se it on pc media player.. wot could be problem here? plz expalin step by step thankx When i first got my phone it synced fine with WMP10, it was storing them to the phone so not many tracks fitted on. then i changed it to sync to the card and it wouldnt work.
