Guest ketansonigra Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 Hi there, I just got an m500. I am having a few probs. I seem to have a lot of folders and I am not sure where they have come from. When I go into 'My Douments' I seem to have a number of folders labelled the following: 04072000001 04072100001 04100100001 05072300001 05072400001 Does anyone know what they are, and whether I can delete them. I also wondered how I can set that pictures I take are stored in? Apart from that the phone is quite sexy. I haven't ever used a pocket PC so its all very new to me. Any suggestions about things that us beginners can start doing with these things

Even if you dont take a picture with the camera when you open the camera app it will create the folder. You can delete it if you dont want it.
Guest ketansonigra Posted July 24, 2005 Report Posted July 24, 2005 thanks for teh quick reply. I had one more questions. when I store pictures, is it better to store them on the SD card, or leave them on the phone. Everyime I have put something on the M500 I have always transferred it over to the SD card. Is that the best way to keep it running smoothly?
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 I have set my Jam to always save photos to the storage card. Start the camera and hit the 'Tools' icon bottom right on the screen. Now hit 'Tools' bottom left, select Options and you can change 'Save To' to storage card :)
Guest ketansonigra Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 I tried to do that. I'm not sure why but when I clicked on the 'Save to' drop down menu all that comes up is Main memory. There is no option for saving on the SD directly. any suggestions as to why? ks
Guest uzi_999 Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 i havent got a m500 - yet - but by the looks of it, have u put an sd card in the device?
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 That would be the only reason I can think of for the lack of a storage card option. Tha card would need to be in the device for the OS to see it. To be honest I don't know whether you can save to the card that comes with the M500 that has the Orange extras on it. Or even if you get one in the first place ! If you do have an SD card in place, is it working okay otherwise ? Can you install software there, for example ? Does it show up when you use the file explorer ?
Guest Xenzo1990 Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 Check that its not locked. I know when I got my SPV Classic I had a similar problem and the SD Card had the little grey switch to one side in the locked direction. Also, does the m500 come with an SD Card with orange extras? If so what size? I only need a small one for programs and things, I could put off buying a new SD card if it came with one. Let me know. Thanks
Guest Disco Stu Posted July 31, 2005 Report Posted July 31, 2005 There is no SD card in the box when you get the M500 from Orange :)
