That's a good question. I wanted to ask the same about the C550, but I'll post it there.

by the look of the markings on the phone it is 8 way but that could just be the look and not the function :|

hah! mate you beat me to it!!! It seems to be the first thing I look for in a phone :) Could this just be a c550 in a new case??? Take it back. suggestions are it may be the mpx100 if so that con artist off ebay needs to send me mine sharpish :x

Doesn't look like an HTC Smartphone to me. Doubt it's based on anything, rather that it is an entirely new device.

I read somewhere that this phone is based on scraped (or sold) mpx100 design.
