Guest MattJ Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 Hi, Just got Picodrive on my C500 - is it possible to buy ROMS or is there a freeware place to get stuff from or is there a legal issue with running ROMS? Found some sites that sell games but not the ones I want. Only ended up with it becuase someone passed me the name of this emulator. Cheers for any help.
Guest davidhoff Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 (edited) Sorry but the only way to get some is through a p2p network. There are still a few internet pages but please look for yourself by googling because this is a very illegal issue (don`t even know if said to much?)! Edited July 25, 2005 by davidhoff
Guest Confused Stu Posted July 25, 2005 Report Posted July 25, 2005 I know one of the big rules on MoDaCo since day one has been not to discuss ROM's, where you can get them, which work, and so on. I don't think you've gone too far with this topic as the answer is pretty much what anyone can find with one google. Still probably best to cut this topic short here before someone ends up inadvertently getting themselves and MoDaCo in trouble. Laters people! :)
Guest moosery Posted July 26, 2005 Report Posted July 26, 2005 Well, no, not really. I think freeware homebrew programs are perfectly legal (at the moment), some people (including myself) enjoy programming on simple systems like the megadrive or most often gameboys. Possibly because Nintendo have a more 'supportive' attitude towards homebrew communities (ie not shutting them down!!)? trouble is, people read "roms" and go off on one...
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted August 25, 2005 Report Posted August 25, 2005 That's because most people want information on commercial games etc rather than homebrew.
