ARRR, I hate crime so much!

Until recently i have been using an Orange c500 with 02 UK. I found that this was absolutly fine and one of the best phones I have ever had. However recently my lovely c500 was stolen leaving me with... ...no sim card, mid contract, without my 512 card :) and in a whole problem because i don't know what to do.

I have Tom Tom mobile still and a I am happy with windows but... ...i would like a better camera on the phone (maybe a 1.3 mega pixel) and if possible a better battey. I don't really like flip phones (mpx220) so that on is out of the question. Most of the phones from what i can see are very similar in different casing. Is there a new generation on its way that i should wait for? Windows mobile 2005?

Please if anybody knows of any beautys around £200 - £250 that will work with 02-UK please post.

Also I see some have 64mb Ram and 2003 SE. What are the obious advantages that they offer? I don't quite see what 64mb is going to achieve over 32mb on a mobile.

I didn't have my phone stolen - I lost it while very drunk :oops: but Orange replaced my C500 the next day for £100 plus £5/month for Orange insurance for the rest of the contract. You couuld also claimed off my household insurance.

I have since upgrade to a C550 which is even better than the C500 although TomTom won't work (CoPilot soes though :) )

I now have a month old C500 - alkthough it does have some chips where I dropped it once, which I am not using. If the worst comes to the worst you copuld nake me an offer for it although I'd rather keep it as a spare!

Ok, anybody know if the C550 is megapixel and if it doesn't work with Tomtom can co-polot be purchased without GPS reciever as I have both a tomtom one and a Parrot CK3300 carkit. A third one would just be silly!

Anybody know if there is a patch or something for tomtom?

Finally I would not be purchasing a C550 if possible, but a Q-Tek or Imate copy.

Is there one avaible and who makes it? (in the the way that the c500 is an Imate sp3)

Yes you can ppurchase CoPilot without a receiver.

No there isn't a patch for TomTom - although I am sure they will release one but I've no idea when.

AFAIK there is no other version of the C550 avcailable at the moment.

The C550 has a 1.3meg camera so it should be an improvement over the C500.

As Confucious says the HTC Hurricane (SPV C550) isn't available from anyone else yet but the QTEK 8200 is available on preorder from Expansys. Don't know when it'll hit the streets.

Arr, this is so confusing. Ok So what is the difference between the 8100 and the 8200?

On expansys there is an Imate sp5 with 802.11b. Is this a tech spec error?

Like I say the C550 is the only version of the Hurricane available AFAIK at the moment. The SP5m on expansys looks remarkably like the C550 and although 802.11b is mentiomned twice in the specs it is not mentiomned in the details which leads me to suspect that it is an error and this phone is another hurricane.

Curiouser and curiouser. Just done some searching and found the I-mate SP5 associated with the upcoming SPV C600! What's more is that it also said they would be both Windows Mobile 5 and have wifi!
