unlocking C550

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone knows if it would be possible to sim unlock an orange phone without an orange sim card ?

Basically I'm trying to get a sim free C550 sent to ireland, so if I do get it I won't be able to get my hands on an orange sim card (no Orange here)

also what would be the story with app unlocking it in this case too ?

Can't you just buy an Orange PAYG SIM? On the other hand, if you buy one SIM free won't it already be unlocked? If you're buying opff eBay get them to unlock it before they send it to you (it is free after all!)

Good idea, you don't know of an online site that will ship one to another country ? I'll scout around ebay maybe.

ps: it won't matter that the sim will not be able to pick up an orange network ??

I believe you just need an Orange SIM in it to turn it on it just won't have reception, any other SIM will just error and you won't be able to get into the phone to unlock it.

If you can't find anywhere that will ship to Ireland PM me and get it shipped to my address and I'll post it on to you.
