First post here please be kind.

Hi, I got a SMT5600 off eBay locked, I knew this.

After putting in my T-Mobile SIM and booting up the machine I go to a screen that sez:

SIMLock, Network is locked. Please input unlock code. Of course I don't know the unlock code. So if I push the red END key for 2 seconds I go to the Home Screen. All keys are then locked. But it sez UNLOCK in the botton left and if I do unlock by pushing the # key I go back to the first "SIMLock, Network is locked" screen.

HELP...

If i can get past this part i should be able to unlock it the rest of the way ok by myself.

TIA,

How much clearer can i be. I already said I know the SIM is locked and I allready know how to unlock it.

But when I bypass the phones sim unlock code enter screen and go to MY HOME SCREEN the keys stay locked and I cannot un-lock them. When I try to unlock the keys I go back to the stupid SIM un-lock code enter screen.

Welcome to the site ix666

I think I understand what you're saying. You can turn on the Audiovox but because it's sim locked you just get stuck on the code input screen unless you put on the keylock in which case you still can't use the phone!

Simple solution is to put in a sim (active or not - I keep a deactivated Orange sim for this reason) that was intended for use in the device (depends on which network supplied it). You'd then be able to use the device enough to do the free sim unlock. But this is so simple a solution I'm guessing it's not an option, ie you don't have a sim that works in it.

Will try and find another solution for you while I'm on night shift tonight.

Thanks for helping guys.

I did put my working (works on my SX66 from Cingular) t-mobile sim in first and never have taken it out.

If you have a mate on the right network, borrow there sim to be able to unlock the phone, then stuff your sim into it and your sorted. just need a bit of luck with the friend thing, thats how id do it anyway. but then i'm lucky cos my mates are all on a variety of networks. :)

As Hawko says you'll need a sim from whichever network the Audiovox is locked to.

Been looking around and so far been unable to find any means on unlocking without first being able to use the device so I hope you can find one!

Thanks for that tibit of info. Does every locked SMT5600 act this way with a t-mobile sim?

Is their a build in task manager i could access to stop the process? Or just minize it so I can access the data portion (and keys) of the phone?
