I downloaded the update to MSNMessenger from the Windows site. I chose the 2003 version. All seemed well until my phone stated that the update I was installing was an older version to the version on my M500. The only option was OK. I removed the update from the installing pc and removed the update from the phone in add/remove programs. Now my MSN doesn't work.....

Sounds like it's time for a hard reset...

No version shown on phone. ActiveSync which is shipped with phone has been updated already. Expected to chec versions, which it did and told me version I had was newer, but still killed it.

Have hit the reset button.. still no MSN

if you ever loose it again, simply run your file explorer in the windows folder and copy the messenger.exe into your programs folder :-)

cheers, lutz

Lutz was referring to the actual application, not the shortcut that's contained within the start menu. When you uninstalled MSN, the application will have been removed and Lutz is suggesting that you could have simply replaced the application (.exe)
