Guest PompeyBish Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 I downloaded the update to MSNMessenger from the Windows site. I chose the 2003 version. All seemed well until my phone stated that the update I was installing was an older version to the version on my M500. The only option was OK. I removed the update from the installing pc and removed the update from the phone in add/remove programs. Now my MSN doesn't work.....
Guest confused and hungover Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 Sounds like it's time for a hard reset... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> did it even need the update? surely the phone was shipped with the latest software?
Guest PompeyBish Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 did it even need the update? surely the phone was shipped with the latest software? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No version shown on phone. ActiveSync which is shipped with phone has been updated already. Expected to chec versions, which it did and told me version I had was newer, but still killed it. Have hit the reset button.. still no MSN

Guest lutzh Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 if you ever loose it again, simply run your file explorer in the windows folder and copy the messenger.exe into your programs folder :-) cheers, lutz
Guest PompeyBish Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 I didn't lose the program icon in programs, just when I prodded it with my stylus nuffin happened.
Guest Hax Posted July 27, 2005 Report Posted July 27, 2005 I didn't lose the program icon in programs, just when I prodded it with my stylus nuffin happened. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lutz was referring to the actual application, not the shortcut that's contained within the start menu. When you uninstalled MSN, the application will have been removed and Lutz is suggesting that you could have simply replaced the application (.exe)
