When I had an original SPV, I got a 'battery extender' http://www.marketworks.com/storefrontprofi...1218&i=15696426

I now have the c500 and cannot find anything like this to charge it.

I had a few USB cables, so I cut the plug off one of the cables, and replaced it on the battery extender (one linked above).

The mobile detects the power coming in, as I can plug it into the mobile the display comes on (normal behaviour), and when I turn the battery extender on the display comes on, but the led on the mobile does not change to solid orange, and does not charge.

The output voltage of the battery extender is 5.15v and only has black and red cables coming out of it.

I connected the black wire to the black wire of the plug

and the red wire to the red wire of the plug.

I tried this on my mp3 player (Creative Zen Touch 20gb) and it responded in the same way as the c500.

Can anyone suggest what to do?

I believe to use the USB cable without activesync, you need to join a couple of the pins. There was a guide on how to do it, the thread was in relation to using usb cable from a cigarette -> usb converter in the car.

I think I found that thread yesterday when searching before starting this thread.

If I remember it was to join pins 3+4 or something...

anyone know which is which pin?

which should I be connecting to the battery extender?

I assume the red and black need to be connected, but what about the green and white ones?

I'll look for the thread later when I get home.

Posted from my C500.
